Patient and Partner Stories with Impact
- Video Series + Commercials for Rocky Mountain Health Plans -
Big Pictures crew filming Byron and Kids for Willow Collective story
How do you tell the stories of the partners you support, and the patients they serve, without tooting your own horn?
This was the mandate from Rocky Mountain Health Plans - produce a series of videos about community organizations who are doing amazing work throughout Colorado by filling gaps in healthcare, with the support of RMHP as more of a background roll.
We collaborated with the amazing creative team at RMHP’s agency Parallel Path, who hired us and supported us along the way.
After months of ideation and finding the perfect subjects, our small but mighty production crew travelled across the state of Colorado - from Ft. Collins to Cortez, and many towns in between - capturing the stories of some truly incredible people and partner organizations.
Our in-house photographer, Teri K Miller, went along to shoot the still images that Parallel Path was able to use in their beautifully-written articles supporting the videos. The idea of the articles is they would go into more depth and detail than the videos would have time for.
To date we’ve delivered seven main films (plus two commercials), each with respective social media shorts, and cutdowns for CTV. Here are a few of them:
Building From Within - On the Western Slope of Colorado, many members of native tribes are critically underserved. Not only is there a lack of resources but the resources that are available aren’t sensitive to the cultural needs of the people they’re mean’t to serve. Monique Sturgeon is working to change that inequity...
Bending Without Breaking - Byron has two sons, Lucas and Ethan. Bright, compassionate, and full of life, Byron’s sons are his whole world. But shortly after Ethan was born in 2020, Byron was in a very different place and became addicted to methamphetamines...
Paradox Of Paradise - The beauty of Summit County Colorado stands in stark contrast to the inequality and mental health struggles faced by many residents. Here’s a story about a man named Otto, who dealt with suicide head on with the help of an organization called Building Hope.
All seven of these stories can be found here.
